I love watching project runway, the pressure, Tim Gunn and of course the trips to Mood! This season I have noticed a lot of wrist pincushions and growing envious of such a cool sewing accessory decided to work out how to make one. I used a metal jar lid for the base part (I'd hate to prick my wrist with pins every five seconds) and scraps of this and that for the rest of it. It's stuffed with wool and seems to be a great addition to my sewing essentials - once I stopped reaching for my regular pin cushion - OK I haven't quite stopped reaching for my old one, but old habits die hard.
Interested in making your own? I'm thinking of doing a tutorial for these in the very near future.
so cute!! I'd love a tutorial..thinking even I may be able to have a go at that one!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! And I love project runway too - Tim especially - and all his catch-phrases
ReplyDeleteI made one a couple of years ago, it was so cute and embroidered but I didn't sew the elastic wide enough apart and it flip flops everywhere. Plus the jar lid idea is genius! Maybe I might try redoing my one so it's usable.
ReplyDeleteuummm, that is awesome.
ReplyDeleteyes please, a tutorial would be fab!
re. project runway- oh how i wish we had t.v, seriously.
How adorable! I would love to make one of my very own, and save my poor partner's feet from the pins I lose all over the carpet!
