over

Well the Easter weekend is over now and I didn't get around to sharing many Easter things last week, I just went by in a blur. I did however fit in some time to make some Hot cross buns, I used a recipe that Jess from Spinning a Yarn shared on her blog. It makes delicious buns that disappeared quite quickly, it seems a much better recipe than all the others I've tried and makes very light fluffy buns. I'm thinking of making them not only at Easter but over the winter as a warm weekend treat.

Hope you had a good long weekend friends.

  1. Yay! I'm glad they worked out for you. I think it's the butter and egg that gives them that light texture. Your crosses look much more successful than mine were the other night! I'll drop off the yarn tomorrow night, if that's o.k.- I didn't make it to Sue's tonight.

  2. Yum, they look great. How did you get your crosses to puff up like that? I used the same recipe but mine looked more like Jess' did at Sue's last week?

  3. They look so tasty. I've used the same recipe since I was a teenager so I'm glad you've found a good one you can use for ever and ever. I quite often make these and just omit the crosses (because otherwise it feels wrong) and simply call them hot buns. I think it's hilarious, but I'm strange like that.
